Each year FoCuS sponsors a community potato patch. The idea came about as a result of farmers Eric and Christine Taylor (Outer Aisle Foods) asking their neighbors to lend a hand harvesting potatoes before the big storm ruined the crop. Friends and neighbors came to their rescue and received a meal and free potatoes for their efforts,

2015 is the year the Sonora Seed Library became a reality. Thanks to volunteers from the Master Gardeners, and the support of the local county library, FoCuS has opened its doors to citizens who would like to help build a collection of flower and vegetable seeds adapted to our dry Sierra foothill climate. The library was able to get people started seed saving...

We started a Permaculture Design Course on January 3rd. The seed library is open on Saturdays at the Sonora Library.  We had two Seed Share Events this year as well as two Grafting Seminars with Jordan Lowery.  Our Potato Patch planting will on Sunday, June 11 commencing at 7:30 AM to beat the heat and is usually done by noon.
